Apply for Leadership Positions in Chemicals and Waste Youth Platform
Dear Chemicals and Waste Youth Platform,
Our constituency was launched in 2021 with a vision of bringing the youth voice to United Nations decision-making processes focused on creating safer chemicals, less waste, and a healthier, pollution-free environment for all generations to thrive. In just these first 3 years - together with you! - we have built a community of more than 1,000 children and youth, from all regions of the world, collectively advocating for our right to a toxic-free future. We have established formal youth engagement mechanisms in 6 international treaty and policymaking processes where none existed before; secured over 130K in grant funding and provided travel grants to over 70 youth to participate in major international negotiations; launched the first Youth Forum on Chemicals and Waste, now a permanent avenue for exchanging youth policy priorities and advancing accountability on children’s environmental health and pollution; and so much more. We need to keep this momentum going through 2025, be more strategic in our advocacy, and raise the political priority of pollution as powerful youth movements on climate and biodiversity have achieved.
Would you like to become more involved in growing the constituency’s work and reach? The following positions within CWYP’s Coordination Team are now open:
GFPs are experienced members of the constituency and serve as the primary liaison between the constituency and UN / other external entities, develop and curate our overall strategic vision and core programs, organize and delegate tasks, and steward the day-to-day functioning of the CWYP. GFPs oversee the work of the Coordination Team and serve as the point-of-contact for centralized processes of the Major Group for Children and Youth.
