New Coordination Team of SDG7 Youth Constituency


The SDG7 Youth Constituency has on-boarded a new team of Regional Focal Points (RFPs) and a group of volunteers forming the Global Support Team (GST). The RFPs and the GST will support operations and coordination of the constituency in preparation for the UN High Level Dialogue on Energy and COP26 later this year as well as key multilateral energy events in 2022. 


The SDG7 Youth Constituency (SDG7 YC) is the energy working group of the Major Group for Children and Youth, mandated by the UN GA resolution A/RES/67/290 to facilitate youth engagement in review, monitoring and follow-up on Agenda 2030. Additionally, the SDG7 YC works with other organisations and processes to promote youth engagement, including IRENA, SEforALL, UNIDO and Clean Energy Ministerial.


The Regional Focal Points will be responsible for coordinating regional outreach of the constituency and participating in coordination of global activities of the constituency. The recently onboarded RFPs will serve for the period 2021-2022:

  • Eastern and Southern Africa: Passy Amayo Ogolla

  • Western and Central Africa: Prince Nana Kow Essel (Institute for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Solutions), Yvon François Tsolefack

  • East and Southeast Asia: Zagy Berian (Society of Renewable Energy)

  • South Asia: Ishita Yadav (National Youth Council of India)

  • Europe: Vadim Kuznetsov (BRICS Youth Energy Agency), Amelie Girard (European Youth Energy Network)

  • Latin America and Caribbean: Kervelle Baird and Joyce Mendez (Latin American Student Energy Summit)

  • North America: Vijjasena Sugiono (Student Energy; US Student Energy Consortium)



The Global Support Team will be a newly-established group of volunteer members responsible for supporting day-to-day activities of the constituency, including membership management, communications, preparation of policy inputs and other tasks. The inaugural members of the GST are:
